The college was established in 1991 to provide accommodation for country students who were unable to undertake specialised courses at their local high school.

The student accommodation consists of separate dorms for both girls and boys. Each student has their own room which also boasts a private bathroom. The 2005 building extensions have expanded the capacity of the college and the wonderful new facilities accommodate 100 students from rural and remote areas of Western Australia.
